Make scalp care feel intentional.
Lavender adds a soft herbal-floral scent to a carrier-oil massage. That can be a pleasant self-care ritual, but current evidence does not establish lavender essential oil as a treatment for hair loss, dandruff, dermatitis or other scalp conditions.
Blend first
Add 3 drops True Lavender to 15 mL carrier oil. Never pour undiluted essential oil directly onto the scalp.
Massage gently
Part the hair and apply a small amount to the scalp. Massage with fingertips for up to five minutes; do not scratch.
Wash it out
Leave for no more than 20 minutes the first time, then shampoo thoroughly. Stop if irritation develops.

- 15 mL
- Argan oil
Apply mostly to hair lengths rather than a sensitive scalp; shampoo out after 20 minutes.
When to skip DIY oil
Avoid use on broken, inflamed or infected skin. See a dermatologist for sudden shedding, patchy hair loss, sores, persistent scaling or severe itching. Keep essential oil away from eyes and children.
